**JAKARTA** – The Jakarta Baseball Softball Classic T-Ball Category officially concluded on Saturday (September 5, 2026), following a series of games held since July 2026 at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Softball Field in Senayan, Jakarta. Organized by the Jakarta Provincial Association of PERBASASI, the competition brought together six teams as part of ongoing efforts to develop young baseball players in Jakarta.
The six participating teams were Jakarta Cubs, Garuda Tara Sharks, Garuda Merah, Teladan Tigers, Prambors Baitul Ilmi, and Garuda Biru. Throughout the competition, young players had the opportunity to compete regularly while gaining valuable experience in real game situations.
Earlier, Chairman of the Jakarta Provincial Association of PERBASASI, David Franico, emphasized that age-group competitions play an important role in building the next generation of baseball and softball players in Jakarta.
“We want children not only to receive regular training, but also to have opportunities to compete consistently. Through competitions like this, they learn how to deal with game situations, build confidence, develop sportsmanship, and grow their passion for baseball from an early age,” David said.
Based on the final standings, Jakarta Cubs finished in first place, followed by Garuda Tara Sharks in second and Garuda Merah in third. Teladan Tigers placed fourth, Prambors Baitul Ilmi fifth, and Garuda Biru sixth.
Despite the final rankings, David stressed that winning the championship was not the main objective of the Jakarta Baseball Softball Classic T-Ball Category. Rather, the competition was designed to provide children with more game experience, broaden participation, and encourage clubs to strengthen their youth development programs.
“Our goal is not simply to determine who becomes the champion. What matters more is having more children playing, more clubs developing young players, and a stronger foundation for the future of baseball and softball in Jakarta,” he added.
The Jakarta Baseball Softball Classic T-Ball Category, which ran over several months, provided young players with valuable game time while also giving clubs a platform to further develop their youth players.
The Jakarta Provincial Association of PERBASASI hopes the T-Ball competition will continue to grow into a sustainable competition program and become an integral part of the youth baseball development pathway in Jakarta. With more opportunities to compete and more clubs involved in youth development, the regeneration of athletes is expected to progress consistently toward higher levels of competition.
