JAKARTA, September 26, 2026 – The Jakarta Baseball and Softball Federation (Pengprov Perbasasi Jakarta) will hold two competitions in late 2026. A Baseball5 competition for high schools across Greater Jakarta and registered clubs is scheduled for November, while a women’s Modified Fast Pitch competition is planned for October through December 2026.

The Baseball5 competition will feature separate boys’ and girls’ divisions for high school teams from across Greater Jakarta, as well as a mixed division for clubs. The matches are scheduled for November 6–8, 2026, at the Bulungan Tennis Courts in South Jakarta.

Baseball5 is a five-a-side version of baseball played without bats or gloves. Its format allows matches to be held in more accessible spaces, making it an entry point for students to discover baseball and softball.

Through the high school competition, Pengprov Perbasasi Jakarta hopes to encourage more schools to form teams and give students opportunities to train regularly. The club division will also bring players from different communities together in an organized competition.

The women’s Modified Fast Pitch competition is open to clubs registered with Pengprov Perbasasi Jakarta, with players aged over 16. Planned to run between October and December 2026, it aims to give female softball players more opportunities to compete. The detailed schedule, venues, and technical regulations will be announced later.

Softball communities that are not yet affiliated with a registered club are encouraged to join one, so their players can take part in competitions and development programs. Profiles of registered clubs are available at www.jakartabaseballsoftball.org.

For Pengprov Perbasasi Jakarta, the two competitions will also help identify development needs: the level of interest among participants, teams’ readiness, and the support needed to sustain regular competition. These findings will inform future competition programs.

Registration information, technical regulations for both competitions, and profiles of registered clubs will be available at www.jakartabaseballsoftball.org.

David Franico, Chairperson of Pengprov Perbasasi Jakarta, said the two competitions are part of an effort to build a sustained pathway for athlete development.

“We want students and athletes to have more opportunities to play, compete, and grow. Baseball5 gives schools an accessible way to introduce the sport, while Modified Fast Pitch provides a competitive platform for female softball players. Athlete development will be stronger when regular training is supported by a consistent competition calendar,” David said.
